Humanity: Texts and Contexts
December 3- 7, 2007
The sixth Building Bridges Seminar hosted by the Archbishop of Canterbury considered how Christianity and Islam understand what it is to be human, addressing the themes of human dignity, human alienation and human destiny, as well as the diversity within the human race and the relationship of humans to the wider environment. These topics were again explored both through public lectures and through the study in small groups of relevant Biblical and Qur'’anic passages. A record of this seminar was published as Humanity: Texts and Contexts: Christian and Muslim Perspectives (2011) and is available in PDF form, provided by Georgetown University Press..
