Muhammad Khalifa

Muhammad K. Khalifa is director of the Al-Qaradawi Center for Islamic Moderation and Renewal at Hamad Bin Khalifa University's College of Islamic Studies. He was the vice-president of the International Islamic University in Islamabad from 2006 to 2009. He has also taught at Cairo University and al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University in Saudi Arabia. His areas of specialization include comparative religions, Orientalism, interfaith dialogue, Jewish studies, Biblical criticism, and ancient Near Eastern civilizations. He has published over 20 books and numerous articles and is a member of several academic associations, including the Higher Committee for the Translation of the Meanings of the Holy Qur’an and the King Fahd Complex for the Printing of the Holy Qur’an. He received his B.A. and M.A. in Oriental studies at Cairo University, and an M.A. and Ph.D. in comparative religions at Temple University.
